Creating the visual identity for a brand new Netball Super League team

With the rapid growth of women’s sports in the wake of the Lionesses’ 2022 (and now 2025!) Euros win, it seems only a matter of time before other female heroes in different sports rise. Netball is undoubtedly one of those sports and with the Netball Super League going from strength to strength, the birth of a new team - LDN Mavericks - required a powerful, modern brand identity that stands out from the pack.

As a team we aimed to capture something that said ‘Maverick’ without being too obvious. Many other NSL teams have animals in their logos for example, something which we were keen to avoid. We landed on the free-flowing, almost casual ‘M’ that embodies a sense of dynamism, speed, and fluidity - all of which are key aspects of the game.
